“When we talk about strategies, the public usually has the perception that those documents will remain in a drawer and will have no use. The strategic documents must be developed together with all the interested factors, and the consultation and discussion component should reflect the ideas and vision of those in the industry,” Bogdan Balaniscu, State Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests said during Circular Economy Conference organized by Sustainability Today.
„Through dialogue we can find balanced solutions that will help us reach the goals we all propose. We must have the ability to all sit at the same table, to present our arguments, without having a hidden agenda, to honestly discuss the problems we have in Romania regarding the circular economy and waste management.
We have bona fide operators who want to develop businesses in this industry, who have good intentions, but there are also less fair operators who create part of the problems we all face.
If we want to tighten the legal framework for operators who break the rules, we must take care not to suffer the correct operators in the market and not to disadvantage those who work correctly in this sector of activity. We must have pragmatic discussions aimed at concrete results.
