Kaufland Romania announces an investment of 7 million euros for the expansion and efficiency of the separate collection infrastructure available to customers. Of this amount, over 260,000 euros have already been allocated for the purchase of the largest separate waste collection equipment in Romania, located at the Kaufland Barbu Văcărescu store in Bucharest.

The new separate collection equipment has six collection tubes and a temporary storage capacity of 60,000 PET, aluminium and glass packaging – three times the capacity of the existing equipment. The company plans to install a similar container at the Kaufland Aparătorii Patriei store.

In the coming period, Kaufland aims to equip at least 35 stores with new machines, equipped with four collection tubes and a storage capacity of 40,000 packages. At the same time, the company plans to double the waste collection and storage capacity for at least another 35 stores.
