“Sustainability is not something that has been on the discussion table for 2-3 years, but maybe now we are looking at it from a more holistic perspective. I am convinced that there are companies that do things without necessarily knowing that they fit to be included in the sustainability reports.

Things are complex, but we have to think about progress and evolution as long as we have a direction. It’s hard, but it’s an exercise that every business must do to be prepared for the future. It is a must-have both on the markets we operate on, but also on the stock markets where sustainability indices are already included in the companies’ evaluation portfolio,” Alice Nichita, Corporate Affairs & Sustainability Director, Coca-Cola HBC Romania said during Sustainability in Business Forum organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest and Sustainability-Today.

“Sustainability is closely linked to profitability and ensures the health of the business in front of consumers, but also in relation to other companies in the public sector. The culture of sustainability has gradually grown both at the group level and at the local level. In Romania, we reached the 9th sustainability report. The sustainability report is like an X-ray of the business at the time you are reporting. It must be a constant process. Depending on the results of the radiography, you must take actions to implement in all business areas.

Sustainability ensures you a minimum survival preparation for the future. The sustainability objectives must necessarily start from the long-term targets and then see what needs to be done now.

Innovation is very important; you must always think outside the box what you can do more and have sustainability parameters included in all initiatives.”
