“Resources mean much more than energy for Klarwin. Resources also mean water, air and waste. Today, society as a whole is focusing on energy security and energy availability. However, we must keep in mind that although we are a blessed country with sufficient resources, very good water, very good air and constantly improving waste management, these resources are increasingly limited.
In order to make resource consumption more efficient, we must first pursue it. This is what we do, respectively we implement monitoring systems. On my phone I have all the water management for one of the largest waste recycling plants in Romania and in Southeast Europe. In one month we managed to implement a tracking system so that the whole factory can ‘fit’ on one phone,” Lucian Pavel, Environmental Department Manager, Klarwin said during Sustainability Forum 2022 organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest.
“After implementing the tracking system for water management, you can come up with improvement solutions and Klarwin is the company that works today in many industries for the concept of dry plant, meaning that there is no water coming from external sources. Almost everything that is consumed inside is 100% recycled water. It is very important for us and this dry plant concept is quite new.
The air is getting more and more polluted. UNESCO estimates that in 2050 the leading cause of infant mortality will be air pollution. Of course, we can’t solve global air pollution, but we can pay close attention to the quality of the air in our production facilities, in our homes, and in the spaces where we work.
We have high-performance filtration, separation and purification systems so as to ensure the best possible air quality.
When it comes to waste, it is important that we do not end up with waste. Everything we use we have to try to recycle more and more.
From 2004-2005, Klarwin began implementing reverse osmosis wastewater treatment systems in landfills. Romania is today in the top 3 globally, along with Germany and South Korea, when it comes to technology in terms of household waste landfills. There are things to be happy about in Romania, we have many examples of good practice and we are proud that Klarwin has been part of these efforts to this day.”
