Societe Generale Global Solution Centre is launching a new edition of the financing program‚ “We Care Together” which aims to support projects developed by non-governmental organizations in Romania and which offers financial support in the total amount of 95,000 euros.
Continuing its commitment to have a positive impact on society and the environment, SG GSC is launching a new edition of the “We Care Together” funding program which this year aims to support initiatives for environmental protection and sustainability. The directions for this project are aligned with Societe Generale Group’s strategy, which also focuses on supporting the conservation of nature, in particular, biodiversity and the oceans, and raising awareness of these topics.
Through this program, SG GSC wants to boost creativity, performance, and responsibility, but also to provide financial support for the implementation of actions that contribute to the conservation of natural resources and the promotion of an ecological lifestyle.
There are three categories of projects that will be accepted in this program:
- Human and nature friendly urban environments
The proposals will focus on urban development in close connection with man and nature, and especially on the arrangement of green spaces that will also contribute to the amelioration of extreme weather phenomena.
- Restoration and Protection of Natural Areas of Public Interest
Participation with projects for active ecological restoration is encouraged, in areas where ecosystems have suffered imbalances. In addition, restoring the ecological role of wild species, their interactions and ecosystem self-regulation, in collaboration with local authorities is a priority.
- Sustainable Agriculture – integrating principles from natural systems into agriculture
Projects that support education in ways like: to transparently accompany farmers and farms in Romania to adapt to climate change and to align with the principles of sustainable development. Concretely, farms should make the transition from a polluting activity to one that absorbs and fixes CO2 in the soil, thus becoming a “Nature-Based” solution.
The program is dedicated exclusively to non-governmental and non-profit organizations, legally established and headquartered in Romania, which have at least one year of activity at the time of submitting the funding request.
“It is our main goal to build together with our colleagues and partners a sustainable future. We want to act for the benefit of individual and collective interests, creating the right conditions for the emergence of certain initiatives that will bring important and lasting changes to the Romanian landscape.
Good luck to everyone and don’t forget that SG GSC supports the positive transformation of the future”, said Ioana Botezatu, Head of CSR within SG GSC.
The project submission period will be approximately one month, from October 10, 2024 to November 6, 2024, after which a jury made up of specialists from different fields within the company will select the projects that will receive funding from SG GSC.
