“It is important to continue renovating buildings with sustainable materials. We had discussions with the representatives of the manufacturers of construction materials to see what their perspective is and to find out the challenges they face. We want to support an industry that produces construction materials with a ‘green component’,” Oana Ozmen, Secretary of the Committee on Industries and Services, Deputy, Chamber of Deputies, Romanian Parliament said during Romanian Sustainability Forum organized by Financial Intelligence.
“It is important to have an awareness campaign. Next week, at Parliament, we will organize an event for children, where they will exhibit different projects and works related to buildings with superior energy performance. We must teach children what a green building means and how to protect nature. We cannot be sustainable if we do not understand that we must protect nature.
Today, we submitted the first bill in Parliament regarding the production of green hydrogen and hydrogen with low emissions in Romania. It is a project on which I collaborated with my colleagues from the commission for industries and services. We made sure that we have a good collaboration with the institutions that have powers in this field. It was a good collaboration with the Ministry of Energy. The project will be debated and will regulate the hydrogen market. Romania is taking concrete steps to become green and sustainable. We must reach our emission reduction targets by 2035.”
