“The CSRD directive means a real change for companies that have started to make sustainability reports. At the BRD level, we adapted our governance, we created a sustainability committee to analyze in depth where we should start, beyond reports, because we must integrate everything into the business strategy,” Flavia Popa, Corporate Secretary, BRD Groupe Societe Generale said during Sustainability in Business Forum organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest and Sustainability-Today.

“At this moment, the strategy can only be thought of taking into account the economic and social impact that, for example, a bank produces together with its customers.

The sustainability strategy is the core of the entire business strategy. We started to publish a sustainability report, which can be perfected, but I think it’s a good start. We saw what our shortcomings are, we saw where we need to work better, we started to realize what is good, what is less good and what is bad.”
