RetuRO, the administrator of the Deposit-Return System (DRS), is preparing to open its third regional factory in the town of Nicolae Balcescu, Bacau County. This factory, located in the logistics park ELI Parks Bacau, will carry out the operations of counting and sorting the packaging of drinks collected from merchants.

The new factory has an area of 7,800 square meters, and the equipment will be supplied and installed by the company Anker Andersen A/S from Denmark, the company with which RetuRO has signed a contract for the turnkey purchase of equipment for all national centers.

The plant will be equipped with eight industrial PET and can sorting machines and four other glass sorting equipment, with a total packaging processing capacity of up to two million PETs and metal containers and approximately one million bottles per day. Also, the factory in Bacau County will also be equipped with two optical sorting devices with a capacity of 6 tons/hour and two baling presses with a production capacity of over 130 bales per day.

The factory in Bacau County will be operational until the end of April 2024 and will have 70 employees.

As the administrator of the Guarantee-Return System, RetuRO will open 17 centers in the next year, where it will transport the beverage packaging collected from approximately 80,000 merchants. These will be counted, sorted and prepared for transport to recycling companies to produce recycled raw material that will be used in the production of new beverage packaging.
