Between August 12 and September 1, 2024, when purchasing any product from the “Back to School” offer, Lidl Romania donates 1 RON for Teach for Romania educational programs. It is the eighth consecutive year that Lidl, together with its customers, contributes to the Teach for Romania mission to support the recruitment and training of teachers from vulnerable environments and, thus, to provide access to quality education to children from these communities. During the previous school year, 23,000 children from over 250 vulnerable schools in Romania continued their studies with the help of 140 teachers who are part of the Teach for Romania program.

At the same time, from the start of the partnership until now, Lidl Romania has supported the Teach for Romania organization with over 2.5 million euros, an amount that was directed to the recruitment, training and support of 8 generations of transformative Teach for Romania teachers.

In Romania, 1 out of 5 children from rural areas drop out of school, and half of 15-year-old children suffer from functional illiteracy, according to the latest data provided by Teach for Romania. The “Back to School” campaign offers customers the opportunity to contribute alongside Lidl Romania to the development of the Romanian educational system.

Thus, between August 12 and September 1, 2024, each item purchased from the “Back to School” range means 1 RON donated by Lidl Romania for the programs run by Teach for Romania. Every RON is transformed into educational resources and support for the professional training of teachers in schools in vulnerable environments.
