“At Bergenbier, we approach not only sustainability, but the entire business with friendliness. We are people who want to achieve good things at the end of the day. Bergenbier produces beer with alcohol, but we also produce beer without alcohol, which is an important pillar in our sustainability strategy.
For the production of beer we use a very precious natural resource, namely water. Every year we look for new solutions and methods to reduce water consumption in production. By 2025, globally, the Molson Coors group wants to reduce water consumption in beer production by over 20 percent.
In the last 3 years, we have reduced water consumption by up to 10 percent every year. In 2023, water consumption was reduced by about 4 percent,” Stefania Batrinca, Corporate Affairs Manager Bergenbier said during Sustainability in Business Forum organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest and Sustainability Today.
“Other important pillars of our strategy are the environment, the communities in which we are present and the responsible consumption of alcohol. Our CSR campaigns that are integrated into the sustainability strategy aim to raise awareness about the responsible consumption of alcohol. We want to see people who enjoy drinking a beer or a beer without alcohol.
When we set certain objectives in the group, we then discuss them with middle management, the managers who have subordinate teams and then the information is transmitted to the operators in the factory. For the factory in Ploiesti, we have a clear strategy for reducing the carbon footprint, reducing the consumption of resources we use.
Half of the Bergenbier employees have been employed with the company for at least 5 years and it is an aspect we are proud of. The feeling of friendship that we promote for a long time within the organization is also transferred when we have targets from the group that we have to explain to people.
The operators of the Bergenbier factory in Ploiesti are absolutely essential in ensuring beer production.”
