Capitalizing on the experience gained as a global sustainability champion and over 25 years of experience in the local market, Schneider Electric Romania provides assessment services to companies of all sizes interested in reducing their carbon footprint and becoming more environmentally friendly. the environment.
The new services that the company offers to existing customers, but also to other companies in the market, are based on a sustainability study carried out by Schneider Electric Romania. It starts from the company’s current situation, integrates a calculation of the current carbon footprint and a decarbonization plan, with concrete and easy-to-implement solutions.
“At the level of the European Union, there is an increasingly clear and strict legislative framework that encourages companies of all sizes to measure their own carbon footprint and take measures to gradually reduce it,” explains Ana Maria Motoc, Consulting Sustainability Advisor, Schneider Electric Romania. “Sustainability is no longer an optional wish or reserved only for large, multinational companies. Starting from 2025, large companies with more than 500 employees are obliged to publish Sustainability Reports, and every year they track their goals and progress in this direction. But data published by financial audit firms shows that around 70% of a large company’s carbon footprint comes from its supply chain, so it is in its best interest to spread decarbonisation concerns to its suppliers, companies of all sizes.”
The evaluation services provided by Schneider Electric follow three directions: energy efficiency, renewable energy and carbon credits (compensation tools that companies can access to neutralize the carbon emissions they generate). Following the analysis, the company’s team of specialists produces a report that indicates the current state, proposes a plan of measures with recommendations and includes estimates of savings achieved following their implementation.
“We build on our decades of success in sustainability, our partnerships with integration specialists and, last but not least, our extensive portfolio of products, solutions and software that help companies take quick action and efficient to help reduce their carbon footprint,” says Ana Maria Motoc.
The assessment includes, in certain situations, the verification of workflows and large equipment, thus allowing any non-compliant consumption to be detected and remedied.
“In the evaluation projects, we use international protocols and standards in the field, but also proprietary tools, developed by Schneider Electric for the area of sustainability and energy efficiency. This expertise is extremely valuable for our customers in order to be able to take measures that determine the achievement of decarbonization objectives, but also the achievement of very important financial savings, especially when it comes to energy expenses.”
