As part of a large-scale volunteer action, Electrica Furnizare employees, together with the Act for Tomorrow Association, planted thousands of saplings on November 16 on degraded land in Potlogi (Dambovita County). “Electrica Furnizare Forest”, comprising a total of 15,000 saplings, represents a concrete step towards a greener and more balanced future from an ecological, social and economic point of view, and the planting action was organized with the support of environmental protection specialists, who have guided the volunteers in carrying out the actual activity.

“This action is an important project for us, dedicated to the protection of nature, and represents an investment in our common future. The Electrica Furnizare Forest, which will reach maturity in about 5 years, represents a small step that can have a big impact on the health of the environment, starting from reducing the carbon footprint and combating climate change to providing a place of refuge for biodiversity. On the other hand, planting a forest encourages volunteering at the company level and participation in environmental actions, having the potential to become an engine of involvement in communities”, said Darius Dumitru Meșca, General Manager of Electrica Furnizare.

“The afforestation action carried out with Electrica Furnizare represents a strong statement about the importance of responsible collaborations dedicated to nature. “Electrica Furnizare Forest” supports us in our mission to promote civic responsibility and sustainability, bringing us closer to the ambitious goal of planting 1,000,000 saplings. We are grateful for this partnership and confident that, together, we will create a greener future for Romania”, said Andrei Coșuleanu, president of the Act for Tomorrow Association.
