The Tinmar Foundation awards 500 euros scholarships to 1,530 high school students from Gorj County who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance. Part of the “Education for the Future – Tinmar Foundation Scholarships” program, the initiative supports the foundation’s commitment to providing educational opportunities in regions facing economic and social challenges.

The award ceremony took place at Spiru Haret National College in Târgu Jiu, where students, teachers and local community leaders came together to celebrate the success of these outstanding children.

“Education is the cornerstone of a healthy and prosperous society. In the current context, in which Romania is facing multiple economic and social challenges, supporting talented young people is not only a responsibility, but also an opportunity to build a better future for all of us. Through these scholarships, we not only recognize the efforts and determination of these students, but also provide them with the necessary support to turn their dreams into reality and contribute to the development of Romania,” said Filip Ovidiu, Vice President of the Tinmar Foundation. “This initiative reflects our commitment to social responsibility and the desire to support sustainable growth through education.”

In Romania, the school dropout rate remains a major challenge, affecting especially rural areas and communities with limited economic resources. The lack of access to adequate educational resources, the financial difficulties of families and internal migration significantly contribute to the increase of this phenomenon. “Education for the Future – Tinmar Foundation Scholarships” provides a concrete example of how investments in education can reduce the risks associated with school dropout. Through financial support and recognition of performance, the foundation aims to inspire students to continue their educational journey,

This program is part of the Tinmar Foundation’s strategy to support education and community development at the national level, while promoting equal opportunities for all students, regardless of their socio-economic background. The program also supports the formation of new generations of leaders who will contribute to the sustainable development of Romania.
