The members of the Brewers of Romania Association have elected Mihai Voicu, General Manager of Bergenbier S.A., part of the Molson Coors Beverage Company group, as President. Starting January 1, 2025, Mihai Voicu took over this position from Michal Mrowiec, President of URSUS Breweries, who held the role since January 1, 2024.

“I am delighted to take on the role of President of the Brewers of Romania Association for the second time, my first term being in 2022. In 2025, the Brewers of Romania Association celebrates 20 years of activity, two decades during which our industry has been represented through this common voice of producers across the country. Over this time, our sector has experienced periods of growth as well as economic challenges, along with society at large. Our commitment to keeping beer a favorite choice for Romanians and developing this industry through sustainable investments has kept us united. In the uncertain times we are currently navigating, it is more important than ever to maintain this unified voice and continue the close collaboration we have within the Association and with public sector partners. I begin this term with the same determination I have shown in the past and with the energy fueled by the extended Brewers of Romania family,” stated Mihai Voicu, President of the Brewers of Romania Association.

Mihai Voicu has been the General Manager of Bergenbier S.A. since 2020. He joined the company over 14 years ago, previously holding the positions of General Manager of Kamenitza Brewery in Bulgaria and Sales Director at Bergenbier S.A.

For 20 years, the Brewers of Romania Association has been the unified voice of the local beer industry. Its objectives include fostering a sustainable beer sector, promoting a transparent competitive environment, ensuring fair and equal treatment by regulatory institutions, and educating the public about the benefits of responsible consumption. With direct investments of over €2.3 billion and contributions to the state budget of approximately €5.5 billion over the past two decades, members of the Brewers of Romania Association generate nearly 60,000 jobs nationwide. Since 2008, the Association has been part of the larger European Brewers family, represented by The Brewers of Europe, established in 1958.

Its current members include the largest beer producers in Romania – URSUS Breweries, Bergenbier S.A., HEINEKEN Romania SA, UNITED ROMANIAN BREWERIES BEREPROD – as well as craft breweries such as Berăria Artizanală Sibiu, CLINICA DE BERE, Scorilo, and Zăganu. Together, these eight producers supply 90% of the beer consumed in Romania. The Association also includes representatives of raw material producers: SOUFFLET MALT ROMANIA and the Romanian Hops Producers Association.
