Schaeffler Romania is strengthening its commitment to sustainability and the fight against climate change through a partnership with Plantăm Fapte Bune în România, with 3,500 saplings planted on an area of 0.56 ha in Vulcan, Brașov County, and an estimated potential to capture 140 tons of CO₂ over the next 30 years.

At the beginning of April, the Schaeffler team at the Brașov location – the Group’s second largest production unit – actively participated in a reforestation action organized in partnership with the national project, Plantăm Fapte Bune în Romania. On a plot of land in the forest fund of the Vulcan locality, the company contributed to the planting of 3,500 saplings (oak, ash, beech, maple), on an area of 0.56 ha, in a collective effort that brought together 125 employees and their families. The project guarantees the care and monitoring of the new forest for a period of up to 5 years, until the trees reach maturity.

This action is a concrete example of local implementation of Schaeffler’s global strategy on climate neutrality and social responsibility, in line with the commitments made under ESG and towards the Net Zero objective by 2040.
